It seems like all our friends have moved recently — at least the entire batch of Apartment Therapy LA contributors. Stationery announcing a move is a great to both give and receive as a house warming gift. Here are my 10 favorite finds from Etsy sellers:

Giving "we've moved" stationary as a housewarming gift seems a bit presumptuous.
these are great! love 'm! better then a very cold and impersonal e-mail.
but... giving these as housewarming gifts???? Erm... wouldn't that be too late? How else would everybody know where the party is held? :-/
haha @pinkandfluffy - my thoughts exactly... wouldn't you combine a "we've moved" with a housewarming invite?
I am all for retro ideas like sending "We've Moved" cards, and I am all for etsy.com. I don't know about the rest of the country, but people living in APARTMENTS (this is apartment therapy, no?) don't typically stay in an apartment for decades at a time, so why waste the money on expensive cards (#6: $22 for 12 cards?!) and postage when you may be moving in a few short months or years? With sites like evite.com, you can easily adjust and send the same notification via email for free, and it isn't a "cold and impersonal email," if I may quote pinkandfluffy.
Personally, I think things like "We've Moved" cards should be saved for a big move, i.e. your first, second, etc, move into a house or condo, which is typically more permanent than moving into an apartment.
I like the map moving cards. And $4 for 10 is a good price--perfect for sending to grandparents and great aunts (the only people who snail mail us anyway).
wow. I am surprised at some of these comments. I think giving "we've moved" cards is a great idea for a housewarming gift. Moving to a home or an apartment - lettting family & close friends know where you are with a darling notice in mail is fun. Thanks for sharing these fantastic designers with us.
Nope. Its a waste of money. Personallu esty.com is filling up with useless handmade mess that they expect people to buy. "We've Moved"...we who? I live by myself...How bout I call you and save a stamp and save the environment and our landfills.
"wow. I am surprised at some of these comments. I think giving "we've moved" cards is a great idea for a housewarming gift."
No. It really isn't a good idea because chances are that by the time there's a housewarming, the person has already sent out cards or emails to all the people they want to have the information. Someone else giving them the cards is a waste of resources. If they haven't sent out cards yet, what exactly is the message you're giving with such a gift?
Who under the age of 50 actually knows the mailing addresses of all their friends? I certainly don't.
These cards are impractical (and expensive, and kinda pretentious). When you move email your friends or update your facebook, like a normal person.
It's time for redesigning! I had a look at the table lamp. It's stunning, truly, but they can't ship to my area.

@519wilson... seriously? not everyone lives by themselves, and if you do just get one that says "I have moved"?!?!? What's that flying out the window...? Oh, it's just logic.....
What is useless to you, is valued to others, and vice versa.
Admittedly we moved a while back, but when we did we sent "we've moved" notes (which were actually photos of my husband and I standing in front of our new house) with our new address and our new home phone number. We sent these to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, siblings, interstate friends/family, overseas friends/family... and they were very much appreciated. Who has the time to ring 40+ people with the exact same details?! And these people then have it written down for reference.
And blandwagon, I would shudder at the thought of announcing something fairly major about my life on facebook. I might not know the address of EVERY friend of mine, but I have the vast majority of them in my *drum roll* address book!!! How impersonal and sad that someone doesn't know their friends addresses, and has to update facebook to update their friends.
You have an address book? What is this, 1983?
