While it seems that generally there isn't a middle ground when it comes to this specialized style of beds, we gathered a good number of different styles of canopy beds to accommodate both modernists and traditionalists. After considering a few of the featured beds, we are pretty sure there must be at least one in the bunch that may just convert any canopy naysayers.
Top Row:
- White Wood Canopy Bed: Hello beach house! I would die to have this bed in a modern interior or a beach side retreat. It has a very simple and calming feel, yet the worn wood gives it a lot of character.
- Feminine Chic Canopy Bed: We really like the soft curves and feminine approach to this particular bed and how it fits perfectly in the bedroom shown.
- Modern Bohemian Canopy Bed: On first glance at the featured bedroom, I get a sense of a Bohemian inspired aesthetic. The bed has a natural, organic feel well suited to an eco-conscious lifestyle.
- Herve Pierre's Gingham Plaid Bed: You have to really love gingham to feel at home in Herve's bedroom. I am not a plaid lover, but there is something about the way it is used that just works. I want to not like it, but I just can't help but find it glamorous and charming at the same time.
- Lyndsay and Fizhugh's Brooklyn Bedroom: Nothing about this bedroom necessarily says Brooklyn, instead I feel as if I am looking at one of the pages in Vogue Living Australia. The organic shape of the posts gives off a sophisticated and sexy vibe.
Bottom Row:
- Masculine Canopy Bed: Do masculine canopy beds exist? The decor in this NYC apartment bedroom and the dark color of the canopy bed convince us that the space could belong to a man.
- Draping Fabric Canopy Bed: The featured bed is our absolute favorite romantic canopy bed. The richness and texture of the fabric creates a dream sleeping experience. How can you deny the brilliance of pulling off this bed in a raw loft space?
- Carolina Herrera Jr.'s Madrid Bedroom: Her bed was custom and made from iron. The height of the posts and canopy gives it a dramatic effect.
- PCH Canopy Bed by Mash Studios: Seeing the PCH bed at Mash Studios is where my love for canopy beds resurfaced. The simplicity of its structure with the addition of one fabric draped over the posts created instant envy.
- Graphic Bed at the Abitart Hotel: The bed is located in its Poetic theme suite. Canopy beds are even for the urban, ultra cool individualists. We are convinced that the yellowish-orange color paired with the writing on the bed is successful in breaking down the stereotype of a traditional canopy bed.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I love #4 and #8 but not practical unless you have a maid who can dust that everyday.
No 1 really really talks to me.
The first one on the last row looks a lot like the one we just purchased! We are awaiting delivery of our Room and Board "Portica Canopy Bed". I hope it looks a lovely as all of these great options!
I love, love, love canopy beds. I have an inspiration file full of them. I think it's possible for them to be masculine: Room and Board's Architecture bed is a good example.
I love the Brooklyn bed. I think a key to having a canopy bed is to make sure you have the room and the ceiling height so the bed doesn't overcrowd the room. Has anyone ever tried building their own canopy bed? It looks like it wouldn't be that difficult.
number 4 is amazing....wanna have
