Summertime is here and that means we're gearing up for weekends spent outside with good friends and good drinks. Sounds good, right? Well it's a good thing that we've prepared you with this list of cool tech, fun apps and simple projects that will make your summer party the talk of the town.

Our new keep-the-house-clean plan involves hosting as many parties as possible (Did you check out Anthony's post on Decluttering Tech & the Home By Throwing a Party?).

So here's a few products and projects we've featured on Unplggd to get you started:

  1. Party On: Free iPhone and Android Drink Apps
Featuring apps that let you browse through thousands of drink recipes to keep your guests socially lubricated. Or, if you're hosting an impromptu party, use these apps to enter the liquor you have on hand and they'll pull up some cocktail ideas for you.
  2. Mystakes Icetris Ice Cube Tray & Ice Invaders Ice Cube Tray from Fred
Give your drinks geek cred with ice cubes inspired by our favorite retro video games: Space Inavders and Tetris.
  3. Geeky Graphic Computer Key Coasters
Then plop those drinks down on coasters inspired by the keys on a keyboard. (These would also make a great host gift for geeky friends)
  4. The Most Important Part of Any Party, Big or Small
Once everybody's got a drink, you'll need to provide some tunes to set the mood. Here, we reccomend two of our favorite no-brainer free playlist websites.
  5. Waterproof iPod Stereo Case for Your Summer Pool Party
If you'd rather play tunes from your own playlist, make sure you keep your devices safe and dry. We love the look—and security—of this waterproof iPod case & speaker set.
  6. DIY Awesome Xmas Lights With Stuff From a Frat House
Twinkling lights aren't just for Christmas anymore. Besides, when they're covered in colorful ping pong balls, these lights are more "Fiesta!" than "Falalalala."
