Over the weekend our MacBook's keypad died. Well, half of it did. We took it in to Apple and they said they'd have it back to us in "4 to 7 business days." Not having our computer makes writing for AT difficult, but it does give us ample opportunity to get busy on home improvement projects we've been blowing off. One of our most exciting projects is painting more walls in our apartment black...
We know that painting walls black can be tricky, but we think we're doing okay so far (it reminds us of a tuxedo!). And, please.... understand that we're not finished with this room yet. We just wanted to show you the progress we've made so far.
The next two things we're going to do is get new bedding (we're thinking simple... no pattern) and paint the beige wall (left side of the photo) either black or chartreuse. The paint is super, super low VOC and it's from Devine Color. Here's a sorta before photo, so you can see what a drastic change we made:
We'll show you more photos next week when we've finished the room!

That's sexy - I hope you paint the rest of the room black too and consider getting a white shag/flokati rug for the floor.
I love the black wall along with the prints you have up. Did you make that bedframe? I am looking for a cheap alternative for a platform bed while I save up to buy a Case Study bed. Can you tell me how you made it? Thanks!
Really looking forward to seeing how the room ends up. Right now that black wall is kinda saying "garage door" to me.
Adina,

Wow. I normally don't like black walls, but this one looks great. I wouldn't change the bedding. I think it looks nice.
