I'm in the throes of moving to a new apartment across town and enjoying every second of laying out furniture and hanging art. I've been dragging, nailing and hacking everything to perfectly fit my new space. I cut down the legs of an Ikea Mikael desk because it was more workspace than I needed and it now sits pretty at about a third the height in front of the couch holding drinks and books as a coffee table. It's all great and dandy, but now I need to go out and find a new desk...
I'm toying with the idea of buying a round pedestal table for my home office nook.
Well, home office isn't exactly right. I don't want to store or file anything there and I really don't need a ton of workspace. I really just want a comfortable place to pop down with my trusty PowerBook and surf and chat.
I'm concerned about whether or not I'll ultimately mind the power cord dangling off the table 24/7, but I really enjoy the idea for the fact that I won't have to sit staring at the wall in the corner of my nook.
What do you think, Unplggd? Do you have an off-the-wall desk (literally)?
