Is Sunbrella fabric waterproof? I hate the picnic wet butt syndrome.
It's not waterproof but it is water resistant.
It's illegal to have open containers in parks.

looks kinda like you pulled the comforter off your bed and dragged it to the beach/park.
I've been using a velvet curtain from a Walmart clearance bin for years now. It always gets Ooos and Ahhs when I pull it out of my beach bag, and it feels great when I'm wearing next to nothing in the sun. I guess it's really better for sand, however.

Well it certainly isn't enforced in Central Park. My wife and I have been bringing a bottle of wine with our pic-nick in the park several times each summer for about the last 10 years. Nobody has ever said a word. And I see many other couples do the same.
I'd imagine enforcement is probably selective, and contextual. A couple having a glass of wine with a full meal in the park is likely to draw no attention from law enforcement. A rowdy group of 20-somethings blasting their radio, throwing a party in the park with a cooler full of beer would likely draw attention, and enforcement. As it should be, I might add.
Oh, more on topic, we have a full-size Ralph Lauren leopard print bed sheet, a print that was very popular in the 90s (ah, the one at this link here) that we've been using as a pic-nick blanket. This year my wife switched to a blue and green polar fleece blanket. It does have more cushion, but isn't quite as stylish/decadent. Just the other day we put the leopard print sheet back in our "kit"— theory being, use the polar fleece as a pad underneath. We have yet to implement this in practice.

Leopard print? Really?? Well that's exciting. As for the black & white combo... I agree, it looks like it was pulled right off the bed and down to the park. I go to the beach for picnics... so I like the sheet idea so I can feel the hot sand under me as I read a book and r e l a x... and drink a cold one (they are def. okay on the beach)! Currently I use a very old thin blanket that belonged to my great grammy... and I love it!
