One of our favourite events each summer is the outdoor Hollywood Forever movie screenings, a festive and macabre series of movies shown in an open area adjacent to where the likes Rudy Valentino and other Hollywood's silent era stars are laid to rest. Watching movies under the stars and enjoying a meal al fresco is just about the best way to spend a summer night. But if that seems a bit too "weird" or social for you, there's always the option of watching a movie under the stars with your own screen, Mr/Ms. Fancy Pants, sans the dead folks, gravestones, and other people with the aid of this 42" Outdoor LCD TV from Smith & Hawken...

The 42" Outdoor LCD TV from Smith & Hawken was designed to weather...well, the weather...with a rust-resistant, powder-coated aluminum casing that battles rain, snow, humidity, dry heat, but not your own poor tastes in 80's teen comedies. The anti-reflective LCD has also been engineered to put out a picture twice as bright as an indoor set (probably diminishing it's performance lifetime though), and a wireless system is included that can transmit audio and video signals up to 150-feet away from inside the house. This sort of outdoor entertainment does come at a price, and one helluva a hefty one at that: $5000. You do get a waterproof remote control, if that's any consolation. But at that price point, we'd be more apt to recommend purchasing an LCD or DLP projector, a sound bar speaker solution and a cheap projector screen or your mom's old white linens.
