Who says a kitchen has to be inside? If you never got around to putting a play kitchen together inside or you just didn't have the space, taking it outside is even simpler.
All Valerie at Frugal Family Fun used was a couple of crates, some muffin tins, bowls, and spoons. We really like how she brought her easel outside too for writing the menu and some impromptu drawing as well.
