Skona Hem recently did a feature on this afternoon party in a greenhouse in Sweden. Aside from the stunning scenery and pretty linens, we were intrigued by the string of Easter lilies hanging above the table. It's an unexpected alternative to a flower centerpiece. Want to make one for your next outdoor party?
After studying the photo a bit more, we're guessing these are easy to make: After removing the stamen and pistil, simply thread fishing line through each bloom. As pretty as these strings of lilies are, they probably won't last for more than a day or two. So, if you're looking for something more lasting (and a lot cheaper!), you could make the lilies yourself: Buy a pack of origami paper that goes with your party's color scheme, follow these instructions on how to fold a lily, and then string them up with some fishing line.

I found this from another site and thought it would also work with the garden party theme. It is actually very cute and seems easy to pull off

Looks dreamy, I want to be there.
We are having our engagement party outdoors at our house in a few weeks and this idea would work great! I do like the idea of making paper ones, though, for the price factor. I will definitely look into using this!

What on Earth possessed that Swedish person to decapitate great numbers of unsuspecting lilies? That's an awful thing to do. They're much prettier in ...person?!
KHale, I like your find better. The lilies are pretty but I'm not a fan of projects that will die before the party is over.
And using anything BUT live plants (including origami) might also be pretty but won't have the sculptural elegance of the plants.
