Today, an oversized headboard doesn't necessarily equal ornate. Some of my favorite inspirations are upholstered headboards that anchor the bed wall and add a hint of plush comfort — all the while retaining a rather simple sensibility.
• 1 & 2 An un-tufted, simple upholstered headboard that extends just beyond the bed frame or to the edge of the bedside tables gives a sleep space prominence and texture without being over the top/
• 3 & 4 A wide headboard set shared between two twin beds lends a grown up, casual feel.
• 5 & 6 And for those who prefer more dramatic approach, a headboard that extends almost to the ceiling lends a luxe feel.

Not really my style, but I do love the last picture.
in pic 1, I think I'll just sleep on the floor
I have a wonderful, restful bedroom, but I still wish that first photo was my bedroom!
Agree with M! That is an AMAZING rug in pic #1. I cannot imagine waking up to that every morning! :)
I love the idea of a single upholstered headboard for a pair of beds - What a great way to unify and dramatize a space!
