Name: Owi, Marc and Ingo
Location: Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC
We live in a 3,400 duplex apartment after combining two apartments together over the years. The condo is a former Masonic temple built in the 1920's and the apartment has these high 16' ceilings that we tried to fill visually.
Our home reflects our eclectic interests: our love for everything Japan, simple lines of French design furniture, lesser known Asian antiques, Hawaiian traditional surfing, and good food and wines.
Thanks Owi, Marc and Ingo!

It's spacious and spare without being stark; congrats, folks. It's wonderful!
WOW! I love love LOVE IT! everything from the longboard to the metal backsplash over the range to the (beloved) toga in the sleeping area. all wonderful. your color choices are right one, serene without being boring with wonderful pops of color that aren't jarring yet effectively add visual interest. where is the leather chair in the bedroom from (sits opposite the toga?)
I love it! The couch looks wonderful with all the cushions, where's it from?
That is one sweet pad.
I'm just stunned that anyone could live in a 3,400 sq. ft. anything in the Upper West Side... Wooooooow!
I love the tatami bedroom!
$$$$$
3,400 sf in NYC is HUGE!
I love how the range hood was incorporated into the angled ceiling in the kitchen. The bathroom is gorgeous.
I'm thankful for that blue room I don't like otherwise I'd die of envy.
is that an antique alaia? by far my favorite element! great translation of those influences....
Wow. That is a lot of space. Some suggestions. (1) Living Room: Despite the various textures and colors, doesn't feel intimate. In large rooms, establish multiple smaller spaces for gathering or simply pull the furniture away from the walls anchored by your rug. Won't ruin your open feeling. The surf board is amazing and the perfect scale. The painting behind the sofa could use some friends or growth hormones. (2) Bedroom: I understand the low concept (very very cool idea) but again there is no intimacy because the room is large and long. Achieve this by adding a few elements of medium height. A tall Noguchi paper floor lamp and a tree would balance things out a bit. And the lucky bamboo is a bit cliche. Perhaps move the art closer to one another to appear more like one larger piece than three overwhelmed smaller ones. Some ideas. Lucky you to have a great canvas.
Ooo, so beautiful and cozy. Is that bedroom a loft? I think the other posters have a point about furniture (well, sitting places) being a little too spread out. But I love the idea of having some tea on some cushions or low couches. *heart*
I meant to say, everything seems so functional, like it would be a joy to live in--and it looks beautiful too. (And modern. Many trendy places look full of sharp edges & I just think of the bruises.) The bathroom is my favorite, actually, although I'm in awe at the use of color in the living room.
Where on earth did you get that gorgeous stool in the bathroom? And that couch & chair from the bedroom?
I like it.
is that Togo a chaise? is that one piece? i've never seen it in that configuration without it being 2 pieces...
nice place.
KA CHING$
I'm in love with the colors.
