It's the Murphy bed of changers. Experienced parents often advise new parents to skip the changing table - why devote the space to it when they'll more often find themselves changing diapers on the bed, the floor, or the nearest available surface? And once the miracle of potty training is bestowed, changing tables can seem to just take up space. Dutch company Timkid has come up with two space-saving wall-mounted changing tables that have no footprint and can be repurposed as desks later. The owl-shaped Owo Changer (above) is designed to hold up to 220 lbs. of weight. It has three shelves to hold diapering supplies which will be out of sight when the Owo is closed. To entertain your baby, a toy or picture can be hung from a hook at the top as a mobile. The body of the Owo is birch plywood, but the top part is available in 6 colors. The Kawa Wall is similar in design, but with a rectangular shape. It's available in birch or white plywood.
The Owo costs 274 Euros and the Kawa is slightly more at 289. There doesn't appear to be a U.S. distributor, but the company will ship to the U.S. We really like the concept Murphy-bed concept of these changers - what do you think?
