Easter baskets tend to be one of those things that get used once a year and then stuffed way back in the closet until it is time to trot them out again a year later. While we are not ones to stand in the way of tradition, here is a different take on Easter baskets that may prove to be a bit more useful year-round.

Anna at My Life and Kids takes a different approach to the concept of Easter baskets. Wanting something that could be used all year round for general storage, she decided to use paint cans (clean, new ones, available at any paint counter). By dressing them up with scrapbook paper and covering the handles with yarn, Anna created a quick and sturdy basket that will prove plenty useful when the last piece of candy is finally eaten.

Sprout Side Table
What a great idea!
I love this idea. We have a bunch of paint cans stored in a cabinet, most of them full. I also have a very narrow space next to my couch where no table has been able to fit. I could paint the cans and stack them for a drink-holder.
A very cute easter basket i bought one year was a stuffed blue rabbit with his middle open as an easter basket and handle made of same soft fur as blue bunny. We recycled blue bunny for 3 easters and i think i still have him. Impossible for me to part with all the stuffed animals collected over the years, i keep them in several large clear zippered plastic bags that comforters came in. They are hard to part with.
