Green has many faces — the vibrant clang of kelly green, the more subtle impression of a muted green, or the sophisticated warmth of an olive tone. White Enamel Flatwa...
My first apartment (actually it was an enclosed carport) was white: carpet, floor, ceilings. The living room was about the size of the green room pictured. Friends said to keep it white: "white makes every room look larger! they said. Meh! Man, it looked and felt small! 6' 9" ceilings didn't help. I gave the walls a two tone green using the Wall Magic dual roller system. I didn't feel like repainting the ceiling, so I just mixed the two greens together and painted a border at the ceiling. It made the room look larger, yet more relaxing. My white wall friends were impressed. The place really popped when I installed cherry laminate flooring (after "The Great Plumbing Backup of October", but that's another story).
Love the greens in the first and last photos. Re: the first photo, they really made the most of that narrow little room. I'd love to curl up in there with a book.
Anyone else reminded of the Bewitched living room from the 60's? Ooo, that pea green! ;-)
Our living and dining room is painted Nantucket Grey (BM), which reads as soft green in most light and goes with everything. It's warmer than pure gray and feels very nurturing.
Green is a hard color to get right. You can end up with walls that look like pea soup or a hospital waiting room.
