I like the pale-minty-nearly grey shades of green in a kitchen, preferably on a white background--it's colour without being too colourfull.
Hmp. I'm starting to roll my eyes when AT presents a gallery of rooms of a certain color, because the result ends up feeling like a panorama of overkill. It's easy to pick a bunch of rooms where there is NO color but the one being featured, but a room with a reasonable dose of complementary yellow or pink or lavender or sepia or peach would still be a "green kitchen." I'm resisting the implied message that "If you pick a color for your room, it's great to banish all other colors, lest anyone miss the point."
My favorite green kitchen is the one in Six Feet Under. I loved the color and the 1940s-ish aesthetic.
I recently did my kitchen over and got "pesto" colored cabinets. Everyone thought I was crazy. I kept the walls white and did the trim cream. I looks so fresh. I love it.
Hi Im actually really glad to see a green kitchen! Unlucky/lucky (depends which way you look at it...) we just bought a new house and the 18 year old is sage green. Apart from the gold knobs and the teal bench tops, I'm starting to think with a few modifications it could actually look really good. The layout of the kitchen is unreal, so there is no justification to change it (gallery style - one of the things that made me love the house, together with the timber floors). And we are in the process of painting the walls from "Cottage Cream" (aka soft yellow) to "Big White" (with a very slight grey tinge). You have given me the inspiration to just "tweak" it and give it a new lease on life!
