Yellow is the energy drink of paint colors, adding an artificial boost of light and zest. It tricks the mind into seeing sunshine instead of shadows, and feeling vitality over fatigue. It's perfect for kitchens. As the vital and active heart of homes, they should be bright, cheerful and stimulating.
Because the human eye processes yellow first, over all other colors, just a splash will do the job. Which means you can paint only the cabinets, like the lead image above. Or, you can throw caution to the wind and cover the walls, trim, and everything in between.

Nomade Express Slee...
Isn't there some research indicating that there are more family arguments in yellow kitchens?
Love the first photo... some of the others are yellow overkill (which I can't believe I'm saying... I love yellow).
Aww - we just painted our kitchen a somewhat similar color to #3. We used Behr's Lemon Pound Cake, and it came out gorgeous.
#2 is sublime! It's so great to see painted cabinets in colors other than green (or, of course, white.)
I love yellow in my kitchen! My cabinets are dark, my walls are white, and I have yellow accents here and there (coffee mugs, tea towel, spatula, etc.) It's just enough of a pop.
My grandmother had a white kitchen, with a bright yellow ceiling. It was beautiful.
