Warm, stimulating colors work well in the social areas of a home. And what could be warmer than a bright, sunny yellow? The mind may wander to school buses and Big Bird, but there's a lot more to these bold, vivid hues. And when pulled off right, they can have a wonderful energizing effect on a room: from rich, glowing gold to punchy, acidic citrus, we've rounded up a selection of vibrant yellows guaranteed to inspire a smile.

White Enamel Four-P...
My living room has been like this for years! "Pot Of Gold" walls and a deep blue velvet Indian couch. I'll never change it.
Our entire interior is painted bright yellow except for one bathroom. :-) We love it.
Love it, love it, love it! People said I was crazy when I painted my kitchen bright yellow, but it never fails to cheer me up.
My bedroom is painted with "Honey Jar" and it always makes me smile.
Yellow color is the symbol of positiveness and it makes the environment of our home interior so beautiful.Living room is the main area of our home, hence we must decorate it with more bright colors and attractive ones.
i really like your article and I would like to follow follow your designing concepts as well as I get some from here:-

The last photo is my favorite because there's a better balance of yellow and neutral colors. I painted a few of my rooms yellows, but always chose a more mustard yellow. The color is really refreshing and calming if you choose the right one.
I've seen the first room before -- the achievement there is that it's the only time those chairs haven't made people say "Eww-- that's SO much pink!" I like the way the yellow and the pink live up to each other's boldness.
I like #3 & 5.
wonderful ~ hard to stop looking!
I once lived in a row house. The living room had only one window, west-facing, and the porch outside that window had a roof over it. The only time the room got any light was at sunset, usually when we were in the kitchen making dinner.
After three different colors that were all horribly depressing, I saw a Betsy Johnson room in a magazine that had walls screaming taxi-cab yellow paired with magenta upholstery. I owned a raspberry Oriental rug that had yellow and green designs, so I went for it. When I was having the paint mixed (mine was a Martha Stewart paint called Sunflower), the kid doing the job was beside himself. "Are you sure?" he asked before, during, and after the mixing. No, I wasn't, but I did it anyway. And it was THE answer.
Not one visitor ever intimated that the color was too bright and everyone was totally happy being in the room. By lamplight it glowed. The be-all and end-all of acceptance: when I sold the house, the Realtor didn't even suggest that I change the color.
