Oftentimes, DIY wrapping paper means a sheet of brown kraft tied with twine or ribbon... and maybe a little ornament tucked into the bow. But if you've got a rainy day at home and want to create your own unique homemade wrapping paper, try this modern and crafty approach!
Using a variety of tools (a big paintbrush, a paint roller, a spray bottle, and a toothbrush) and black watercolor paint, you can create your own bold and graphic gift wrap on the cheap — and it's much more interesting than going the kraft route.
You don't have to limit yourself to black paint, either. Splatter on some festive red strokes for Christmas, or a soothing wash of ocean blue for an all-purpose wrap.
See how it's done over on Oh Happy Day!
