Measuring just 13.5 inches wide, these narrow shelves by L.L. Bean are perfect for small spaces. If your apartment lacks a laundry area or utility closet, these can fit in between doors or in a tight corner, and they're just the right shape and size for cleaning products...
Made of wood with a white painted finish, the Narrow Shelf sells for $99 while the Ironing Cupboard goes for $199. Another less expensive option: the Freden Wall Shelf from IKEA is 16 inches wide at $40. Other similar ideas? Let us know in the comments.

ohhh, ready made built-ins for non-renters. Just be verrry careful with your drywall saw... reinforce and insert!
oh, where can I get that ironing board? right now I have the one that fits on the back of a door and it keeps my only door (bedroom) from shutting correctly!
Sassy--
Did you even bother to read the post or click on the link?
It's from L.L. Bean...
bepsf - I don't know whether you mean to or not, but you crack me up. Hope that's ok. :-)

Thanks - I'm glad.

Is it just me, or does it look like the wainscotting is showing through the back of the open shelf? Either the shelf has a decorative back (nice touch if true), or more likely: You Suck at Photoshop, the LLBean Catalog Edition.
Sassy - I bought a similar ironing board from Home Decorators. I have had it several years and absolutely love it. I hadn't seen the LL Bean one so don't know which is more coste effective but my gut feeling is LL Bean will be more expensive. The HD one did come unfinished which I prefered because I stained it instead of painting it. There is a matching cabinet for storing your iron and ironing supplies too.
