We stumbled across this photo on morguefile yesterday. It made us wish there were more buildings with shutters in our neighborhood. On the right kind of house, painted shutters can add a lot of character... We grew up in a home with blue painted shutters on the windows. There's something about them that feels simple and unpretentious. With the popularity of floor-to-ceiling windows and modern lofts, shutters seem to have fallen out of favor. We're wondering if anyone out there has seen painted shutters on a more modern home?
