Q: I've finally got around to painting my son's dresser. (Now that he's a year-and-a-half-old!) He's using the dresser from my nursery when I was little. It's solid, and I like the front. The problem is that the top is a wood-grain laminate, not real wood. I've got the dresser sanded, but I'm at a loss of what to do on the top. Sand it and try to paint it, even though the paint might not stick? Or leave the top wood-colored? In which case, I need to select my paint color pretty carefully. Any ideas?

Editor: Anyone have tips for painting laminate surfaces? If it doesn't work out you could decoupage the top.
