We have a sliver of a balcony that we've really only used for hanging clothes out to dry and trying our gardening luck. We'd like to make it a place where one (and we mean that literally - there's no room for two) can spend a moment soaking up the sun. These mats could create the more inviting look we're after, while also covering up the peeling floor paint out there that needs to be redone.

Available through West Elm.

West Elm is out of the 8'x10' size in all colors (sob). Any suggestions for other cool and inexpensive outdoor rugs?
I have the yellow classic 4x6 indoor/outdoor mat ($36) from Koko Trends - great price and so far it's held up really well. They also have 5x9's and runners. They are VERY similar to the ones at West Elm.

Thanks for the tip, Sulako.
I had one of those plastic Asian mats/rugs on my deck that look exactly like the "Classic 4x6" Koko Trends mats and after a few weeks, it started to flake under the pressure of the table and chair legs. They're super inexpensive ($20 for a 5 x 7 at an Asian market), but probably not meant to be outdoors for long periods of time. Probably OK in a covered outdoor space. Wonder if these West Elm rugs will hold up in the sun?
Whoever was in charge of forecasting for West Elm this spring and summer did a horrible job. The 4x6 and 8 x10 ipaisly mats in yellow sold our right after the first catalog went out and now none of the colors are available in the 8 x 10. It's only May!! Geesh. Some parts of the country are still defrosting and WE is out of stock on a bunch of outdoor items already.
Does anyone here work at WE or no anyone who does. If so, please let us know what is up with being out of stock and not re-ordering!
You can also use these indoors....I used one once as rug for kitchen and it held up well and was easy to keep clean.
I bought one of these indoor/outdoor mats from Terra Mats - www.terramats.com -- for use in front of my kitchen sink. I've been using it for over a year and it always look clean and fresh. I just wipe up a spill with soapy water and a sponge. I love that I don't need to launder it.
I also use the rugs in my beach house. I just have to shake out the sand and dirt - no vacuuming. They really provide for carefree living.
