Recycled Pallet Sofa

Recycled Pallet Sofa

While traveling in Bali last year I was appalled at all the garbage strewn along roadsides and in empty lots. There was plastic refuse EVERYWHERE. So I was really excited to come across this clever reuse of a plastic pallet into this adorable little sofa from Rahmi in Indonesia.

Such a simple concept! The pallet is cut in half, then stainless steel plates and legs are welded into place. With cushions for the seat and back, voila, you have a sofa. I could totally see these on a covered patio if weather-resistant fabric were used. And sure beats the old, ugly wooden futon frames for super economical seating.
