Taking a look at our top Fall Colors Contest winners for 2007 (above), the popular palette is quite warm - lots of orange, yellow and brown - but that tide could turn. According to todays announcement from Pantone, the color of the year for 2008 is on the opposite side of the color wheel...take a peek:

It's called Blue Iris, and according to the color experts at Pantone, it best represents color direction for the coming year.


"This beautifully balanced hue combines the stable and calming aspects of blue with the mystical and spiritual qualities of purple. Blue Iris satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world, while adding a hint of mystery and excitement."
