British paper artist Bekx Stephens takes a simple sheet of paper, pleats it, threads it, and turns it into these whimsical works of art. Her organic creations give a whole new dimension to the art of origami.
Using acid-free recycled paper, Stephens creates each sculpture with a single repeating fold that is combined with new shapes by stitching the pieces together. The result is an intricate origami form that takes on a three-dimensional texture and an element of movement through human touch.
Not only do Stephens' paper art pieces make beautiful statements on their own, but I think they would be stunning as lanterns strung up en masse. I could see these swaying in the breeze above an outdoor dining table!
