These paper-wrapped rooms by Madrid-based photographer Lola Guerrera may not exactly be an idea you want to steal for your own home, but the crisp, clean spaces are irresistible (as freshly wrapped packages tend to be), and they remind me of my grandmother’s very, very plastic-wrapped living room, with a far more beautiful result.
The photographs thoughtfully illustrate the conflict between the need to actually live
in a space and the desire to protect it from the inevitable messes caused by guests, children, animals, and everyday life. I’d love to have these gorgeous images on my wall to remind me that a little chaos is only human and, on a side note, how amazing is that paper-covered tree? A DIY sculpture project is almost definitely in my future.
