Parasolita Lamp: High Style, Moderate Price

The pendant lamp is the little black dress of the lighting world. It works anywhere and there's a style to flatter most shapes and sizes. But once you start looking for the right one, you can find yourself at the crossroads of inexpensive and bland and exciting and ridiculously over priced. The Parasolita Lamp is a nice middle ground...

This beautiful wood veneer lamp has beautiful curves, color and style. It's the work of Ali Chapkin who hand draws the shapes to be cut out later with a laser. The rest of the lamp is made from bio-friendly products and retails for $250.

Considering the work that goes into this creation and the beauty it can bring to a space without being overbearing, or boring, we think the middle of the road price is a great fit! What do you think? Let us know below!

Between the wood veneer, the dated looking shade, the plastic cord, I would not call this stylish, nor do I see it working anywhere. Sorry, but it reminds me too much of the 70'd wood paneling. And I hate to say it, but it looks cheap.

ditto. it doesn't even look like they are hanging straight. and $250? seriously, you can find way better out there.

I'm seeing a crudely repurposed bread bowl.

This isn't really working for me, for reasons that are well articulated above. I would say if you are looking for the lit wood veneer look, you can make an elegant barrel shade with $20 worth of wood veneer from the hardware store or, for a bell shape, an expensive, thin, acacia wood bowl could be fitted out with simple lamp cord.
