...Serve Jury Duty down on Centre Street today. At the present moment we are logged on to a very slow wireless connection in the central jury room. We're not allow to take pictures or we'd show you all the cool murals they have here that document the gradual development of Manhattan Island from tiny Indian village to 20th century industrial hub. They were all painted by Robert K. Ryland in 1938. Our favorite so far is the idyllic view of "Collect Pond - 1798 - Adjacent to the site of the county court house," which shows the long forgotten fact that ponds and streams used to be native to his part of town. So, we're going to do our best today, both for the jury system and AT, and we shall see what happens. BTW, the jury system is so GREAT now. We remember sitting for days and days, but now that they've overhauled it, it is SO much more efficient and you really do feel that you are performing a valuable service for our society. It is a pleasure to be here. ... ... Wow, it's 10:45 and they think they might send us home for the day!
