We were tipped off to this show at the Pompidou, Charlotte Perriand, and are so grateful. Ms. Perriand was one of the creative geniuses [and sole woman] behind the Corbusier design group and responsible for the famous "racks, the chairs and the tables." This show does much to restore her reputation as both gutsy, ahead of her time and restless enough to leave Corbusier behind and move to Japan and explore the East for over ten years before returning to Europe in 1949. At Le Mesturet we sat under many of these traditional wine bottle drying racks. The become more beautiful with more bottles and slightly different colors. They are chandeliers without a cause.
Here is another shape.
