Patio Transformation: The Retaining Wall

A while back, we showed you our patio transformation; from dirt pit to granite sitting area. But we failed to mention that the before state we showed off wasn't really the true before..what you see above is how our backyard looked on day 1. Jump below to see the wall we built and how it truly transformed the space....

Building the wall completely changed the way we use our backyard. It added a new sitting area and a great little shaded area for lounging under the persimmon tree!

Having done that job - congradulations on a very pretty scene. Nice dual use of the yard, and good shade, too. Like the texture change from patio to stone to wood.

I think i have the werdio question, what kind of gravel did you use and why?

I'd love more detail too, as more of a "how to" - I think this came out beautifully and I'm sure people would be interested.
