A few weeks ago on Facebook, one of my pals posted a a cool idea. She said, "I'll make gifts for the first five people who respond. The only catch is that you have to make gifts for five friends too." Not surprisingly, that list filled up fast, as did the ones that followed. Since traditional gift-giving holidays are far away, this is a fab way to bring a smile to someone's face right now.
My friend Rachel made shibori hand towels for her list of five (sadly, I didn't get to her post in time). The cost of the towels and dye was cheap, and they look really beautiful (psst, Rachel, I want one!). Your gifts can be whatever you're skilled at, from paper crafts to strawberry jam. It's the thought that counts! Plus, what great motivation to get creative.
So go ahead, make five presents and pass 'em on. And then check your mailbox for the handcrafted goods coming your way.
