Peak Bath

Water conservation is a growing topic of discussion here in drought-threatened Los Angeles. The Peak Bath has a unique contoured shape that closely fits the posture we take when bathing while significantly reducing the volume of water needed for a normal bath. Filling up the bath will also take less time. Just don't trip while trying to get up.

Is it me?... Or does the idea of this tub seem utterly silly. What if you want to straighten your legs?

This is terrible. Who just sits in a bath? Does nobody move around? What if I want to get my face and hair wet? And your joke about not tripping on the way out (or in!) seems seriously right on. At least add some sturdy rails to the edges....

Remember kids: the energy required to build a new bath is worth thousands of tubs worth of water.

Hate it. I would fall or hurt my knee getting out of it, and i also like to keep my legs STRAIGHT while in the tub.
The whole idea of keeping legs bent in the bathtub, i think came from the movies/television/cartoons.

This is idiot green trendiness and would get very old about 30 seconds into the first bath.

Another example of Design Through Over-Specification:

1. That's not the posture I take while bathing.
2. How do you bath a toddler who's old enough for the tub but still quite small? How do mid-sized children fit?
3. If you use your tub for hand-washing or dyeing large swaths of fabric -- or for washing the window blinds -- that bump in the middle will mess up your results.

Actually, for a smaller kid or pet, you could bathe them while only filling half the tub.

No, you can't -- you'd only have a couple inches of water, and you'd spend most of your time trying to prevent the wriggling child or pet from hopping into the "dry" side of the tub. Anyone small enough to try in half the tub belongs in the kitchen sink anyway.
