This massive penthouse apartment sits 23 floors above the city of Montreal, Canada and takes full advantage of the large windows and panoramic view of downtown Montreal, Mount Royal and the St. Lawrence River.
Interior designer René Desjardins created a loft-like division of public and private space within the 3,300 square feet (originally two penthouse apartments). While all the space is sublime, it's important to note that much of the designer's description of the new space is based around windows, window coverings and lighting!
René Desjardins mentions that the ceilings were lowered slightly to make room for all the electrical and recessed lighting — it hides both the automatic window covering mechanisms and dual spots for each lighting fixture.

Wow this is absolutley beautiful!
Yes please.
Ugh, those 3 tall Sapien book cases look awful.
Some minimalism (I'm not anti-minimalist) feels very personal and creative. This is the opposite. Like a lushly impersonal boutique hotel suite.
some of the shots remind me of condo renderings
DO WANT!!!!
Absolutely beautiful.
oh wow.. i thought the kitchen was hot and then I see the bathroom.. and think I could live in there.. and not to forget the view.. of glorious view..
while I love the look of just about everything, i can't get past the DVDs (books?) in two columns on the wall. If you MUST do that, at least group the spines by color; that will make it look less haphazard. Otherwise... lovely!
Meh. This is the kind of modernism that leaves me cold. No color, no character, no life.
LOVE the Sapien towers in this home. Books as sculpture. That they are somewhat haphazard adds a little warmth/whimsy that de-sterilizes the perfection of everything else. Love and more love.
I don't like the Sapien shelves, but I pretty much love everything else. Montreal is gorgeous; those views are incredible.
I would like to correct: it's not St. Lawrence river, but St-Laurent.
I thought these were Revit or sketchup renderings. yikes.
gawgeous. My kind o place.
But I agree the books and media should be hidden.
Luv that kitchen and bath!
Where did the cabinets (kitchen) come from?
Meh.
I am a crazy book lover and even with all that fine cabinetry, and all that space, my first thought was... OMG I LOVE THOSE BOOKS ALL LINED UP ON THOSE SHELVES!!!
I am proud to say that I was actually the painting contractor for that job. Was a little surprised to see it posted on the site.
