The holidays are a time when we think of home: our childhood home, our present home, our someday-dream home. Give your hosts a little taste of their home state with these cutting/cheese boards and some splurgey cheese or fresh-baked bread. It would be an especially sweet gift for a couple, one for each of them- though you get off at half-price if they both hail from the same state...
I would love to receive something snacky like bread and cheese (well, that amazing-looking cashew-based vegan cheese that I can't afford) as a hostess gift. I could either serve it at the party, or (more likely) keep it for an after-party final-glass-of-champagne treat – with plenty leftover for breakfast the next day! Bread and a cutting board, though — that's a super classy gift. I would especially like to give A.Heirloom's bamboo plywood cutting boards (first seen here on Apartment Therapy) to the international couples I know: Arizona and Italy for Jocelyn and Andrea, Illinois and Germany for Mary and Sven. These would also make a darling gift commemorating the state where your friendship with the host began, especially if neither one of you still lives there. We'll always have Colorado, Jen!

Too bad if you live in Colorado or Wyoming, though. You'd just get a rectangle.
What? No Texas?
I think for most states this is great, but did you see Maryland? Yeah, useless.
Hm, my mom just moved to Massachusetts. Maybe I'll get her one for Christmas. Too bad she doesn't cook like, ever.
Skaterjo, they have a special request link for a board from anywhere ellse. It's $42. Still, they should have Texas!
I can't believe they seem to have Manhattan, Long Island and Brooklyn and not New York state! How strange. Great recommendation anyway.
Thank you so much for featuring our boards, such a nice surprise!
We have all fifty states! even New York.
They have Texas, it showed up when I followed the link....
Pretty sure I saw New York State as well. Also, some states may not be as useful but might still make a great wall decoration.
Hmm.... I'm from Hawaii... going to be a challenge to cut on those eight little boards. I think the Big Island will definately get the most use. If I were from a bigger state, though, would be very cool to use -- I might even buy one just to mount a clock mechanism to; I think they'd make neat wall clocks.
Nice job showing some Wisconsin pride AT!
These are great. I got one for my son and daughter-in-law--California with two hearts, one for me and one for the other in-laws--when they moved to Houston. The quality is great.
