My idea of a perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon is perusing through a flea market or hitting up tag sales. Even coming home empty handed, I find it totally entertaining to take a mini-trip through the history of decor, design, packaging, books, music, entertaining - I think of it as a snapshot of how we lived THEN.
This weekend, I've got two very different markets to attend, one IRL and one online:
The monthly Chicago Antique Market is here again. I've been going to the market since it started up years ago and always enjoy myself. I find the prices reasonable and the selection interesting. If you haven't been, I give it a strong recommend if you have a few hours free this weekend...and are planning on being in Chicago, of course.
It's held on the 1350 block of Randolph this Saturday and Sunday, from 10-6 on the 25th and from 10-5 on the 26th.

For everyone else, my next shopping destination this weekend is available to all - a tag sale that is being held online.
Danny Seo is someone who lives and works at the intersection of green living and design. A long time fan of repurposing, recycling and giving items a second life, he is a thrifter at heart. Which means he's collected a LOT of good stuff over the years. This weekend, he's holding a virtual tag sale, which includes over 200 items, including those shown throughout this post.
It kicks off at 11am this Sunday, 8/26 on One Kings Lane.
