I can honestly say that I've never had an actual crush on dinnerware before, but it's a new decade where anything is possible. Marimekko's Oiva Dinnerware is a potpourri of patterned perfection. While purchasing the entire set would be quite pricey, a few pieces would undoubtedly add interest and energy to any solid tableware you might have.

The beautifully designed details on each piece are meant to take you through a tale of country life in an urban setting.
Maija Louekari’s patterns have been carefully designed to suit the size and shape of each simple piece, designed by Sami Ruotsalainen. The line drawings of Siirtolapuutarha (Community Garden or Allotment) depict intricate vegetables and labyrinthine buildings that flow from one piece to the next, a perfect complement to the simple, geometric design of Räsymatto (Rag rug).
With fifteen uniquely designed pieces, the mix and match possibilities are endless. Marimekko's Oiva Dinnerware is available from FinnStyle with pieces ranging in price from $13 - $83.

What do you even call a crush on dinnerware? I think I'm developing one too. What a great collection!
I'll put the tea pot on my wish list, kthnx.
A Finnish friend brought back a few similar pieces on a trip home last year. Every time we sit down for coffee, I find myself charmed all over again by the adorable cups, a bright spot against her basic white dishes, and I covet.
Crush? I'd marry this stuff.
A lot of my friends in Finland are going crazy over the Siirtolapuutarha-pattern! Maybe next time I go over the pond, will be bringing some over....
