You're happy with your home decor. The pillows and accessories are just right. The color palette has good vibes. But. There's fur everywhere from your four-legged friend! Many times, keeping fur off your sofa is as easy as giving them a more attractive alternative like a den or bed of their own. Cats and dogs will feel safe and cozy, and less inclined to spread fur all over your fantastic sofa.
As cats and dogs are particular about location, place your pet den at a good spot near the offending location like the sofa, bed or armchair. In addition to fur management, some of these pieces double as furniture! Photo 1 is also a side table, and Photo 2 is an ottoman. Photos 3, 4 and 5 may not double as furniture, but their advantage is their compact size and washability.

White Enamel Four-P...
I have bought many a cat bed. They sleep everywhere but in the beds I by for them. I give up.
hmmmm what about aesthetically pleasing cat trees? do these exist?
The cutest accessories are always for the smallest dogs. What about the dogs that are over 15lbs?! I just keep a simple floor pillow in the bedroom, and one for the living room. It has a washable cover, and can be moved around depending on our needs. Seems to do the trick.
These are all hideous. Where are the midcentury modern pet crates?

I like the first one. Great way to camoflauge a pet bed with furniture. Too bad my dog only sleeps on the couch or on my bed.
I have seen a few almost visually appealing cat trees. I like this concept https://urbancatdesign.com/en/store/product/46/catcase.html but not really the color of the bookcase.
This one was shown on Martha Stewart http://www.catsplay.com/cedar_5_4foot.php3 but I don't love the basket.
I like the idea of this one http://www.catsplay.com/hollow.php3, but I wouldn't really want it in my living room.
I absolutely love this one http://www.petsmood.com/index.php?langue=en, but its very expensive, especially with shipping from the UK.
None of these -- with the possible, and qualified, exception of the first -- is appropriate for a dog. Ventilation is key in even a temporary bed (as opposed to a closed crate). I'm not big on crating, but if you want to give your dog a cozy retreat, buy a crate that is the CORRECT SIZE for your friend and remove the door or tie it open, and purchase or sew a thin, breathable cover for it. Wash the pad and cover often. Remember your dog is a living, breathing creature and not part of an end table.
My former cat was elderly and sick, so I got her a heated cat bed at Petco. The other cat co-opted it. So I got Cat One another one, which she used until she died. It has removable covers for cleaning, so I washed them for the next cat -- who sleeps anywhere but in that cat bed. (She loved it for a few months, but not lately.)
I love the idea of a cat tree but have no space for one. The cats make do with window ledges, shelves, an occasional hop to the fridge top, closet shelves if we aren't vigilant...
One of the best ideas I ever saw was a stair-stepped set of cantilevered shelves (IKEA Lacks would work) especially for cats. No decorations permitted, but secured pieces of carpeting or other cushioning allowed. All you need then is wall space and cats!
I forgot to observe that the second bed shown could easily be replicated in many styles with an appropriate coffee table with a shelf underneath and some cushions.
Those are very pretty! If I spent the money I'd hope my cat would sleep in one, but I think he'd just sleep in the box it came in.
