Here is what they had to say: We just wanted to drop a quick line and send you a link to a project we finished around our casa - indirectly inspired by the creative crew at Apartment Therapy. I had stumbled across a photo on your site and saw huge, black and white children photos in the background of one image. I filed that image away for later inspiration, and just recently, we blew up photos of our children. Except our kiddos have four legs and lots of fur.
Love it! Be sure to click over to Yellow Brick Home to for the full scoop and more pics: Call Us Crazy
Thanks Kim and Scott!

That is great! Love the kitty yawning!
LOVE this.
Great to see this here, I love YBH!
Love it! A way to artfully display images of some of our favorite family members!
oooh, anyone have a source for the couch?
My husband and I have been talking about doing this with our 3 dogs :)
Awesome!
Love this. Spotted another great pet portrait in a recent NYT profile of actor Bradley Cooper: in his house, he has an incredible oversized memorial portrait of one of his adopted dogs. http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2011/03/13/movies/bradley-cooper.html
@girlonfoot - thanks for that link! That portrait (and these) are awesome!
I love that idea! I just wish I would have thought of it myself before my little guy passed away suddenly. :(
I love this! I definitely want to do something for my two dogs. They've just been the best dogs and one of them is getting older (she'll be 11 in June).
The portrait I've been thinking about is done by Art Paw (www.artpaw.com) in the painterly style. It's pretty bold but I absolutely adore color. The only downside is they are a bit pricey for my college student budget. Might be worth it though...
I am SO DOING THIS.
Well done!
love it!
if you like a pop-art look, i cannot say enough about http://www.doghousepetportraits.com/Doghouse_Pet_Portraits/DoghousePetPortraits.html

Kim and Scott are my good friends and they actually have a shop of their own where Kim paints super affordable customized pet paintings: http://www.yellowbrickhome.com/shop/ acsmith, she uses color like what you're looking for: bright and fun!
where is the original photo from I too want to know who makes those couches? I am referring to the one's in the photo with the children any info??thanks d

Very nice. Better than the original! Though the original is nice too.
CORGI BUTT!!!
*love*
A friend did this for me and it was the best gift I've ever received. She printed and framed a picture of my dalmatian and the negative of the picture-so she is black with white spots. The picture is so cool and I love it even more since she dies this year at 15.
The look on the dog's face is priceless. He totally recognizes him/herself.
Kids! =) mine's a rabbit. =)
wow love that dog, nice post. our family have been involved with pop art portraits for over 15 years and never get bored of posts like these! thank you
This is brilliant. You don't only have to do kids though, you can do nieces or nephews that you adore.
