Design: Petite Concrete
Materials: Concrete. maple veneer. LED light bulb.
Designer: Anna Ritchie
"My petite concrete table lamp was inspired by the functionality of it's LED light bulb. Something that is generally perceived as a cold technology has developed to mimic the warmth of nature."

"The heavy concrete base is balanced by a light maple veneer shade, making a statement even when the light is off.
The petite concrete lamp, measuring 17.5" tall, takes up only a 3" x 3" space on your table. This makes it great for small apartments, bedside tables, or writing desks."

Sprout Side Table
I quite like the design, but I'd like to see it in a dark room. It appears to be pretty subdued lighting, which I don't often use, but the aesthetics of the lamp are appealing.
It doesn't seem that there is enough light given off to use this as a desk lamp for working. But to add some mood to a dark living room, as alluded to by SherryBinNH, it rocks!
proportions are perfect!
Now "that" is NICE!!
I agree about the proportions. I like that each lamp will be unique in its own way just because of the nature of the materials. Simple, elegant lines.
It's beautiful...but concrete?!
It is a LAMP, right? A light fixture? And it's made of concrete? Out of respect for all of my friends that will help me move in the future, I'd never buy it. Beautiful, but sort of a cruel joke.
I love it... great idea.
This is gorgeous. I think it would look great with other shade materials too, or colored concrete. Like the rest I'm curious how much light it actually gives off beneath the veneer shade.
@asmallcontempt, the base is only 3" square, it's probably not THAT heavy.
What happened? Mine didn't have a "zero" choice.
having spent a few hours browsing for lamps to get more light in my place, adn settling on some Ikea ones I would like to say i could see myself buying one of these. its unique and I like the materials used. Soft lighting is great sometimes.
Really @quiltmaster? Did you have to make such a snarky remark? I believe that everyone should have their own opinion but in a forum where creativity should be encouraged, snark is just mean. Just don't remark if you don't like it. Or at least comment an improvement. Having said all that, I think this is a beautiful and creative design. I'd love to have this in my entry area on my landing strip.
I love it ... Would love to see it up against a dark wall!
Half win, half lose. When lit up, the wood "mimics the warmth of nature" but the concrete is still all cold and lifeless. I'd just paint the base.
I love it! Simple and clean. Concrete can be used in creative ways that make it elegant and modern. Good Job!!
I like it as pictured - but think I'd love it even more in a different color combo or maybe even ratio of shade to base. The concept though is incredibly cool!
@femmebot, I completely agree with you. People should think first before speaking, what if the shoe was on the other foot? I think it is quite unique and interesting. She did a great job, it looks streamlined and represents nature perfectly (the hard and the soft). LOVE IT!
Love the simple, clean lines of this lamp.
I love it... can I get one??? LOL! @asmallcontempt... it's a small lamp... not a pillar of concrete!!! The idea is awesome, I really think the mix of concrete and wood is fabulous... ! VERY unique!!!
I really like the design. Great concept. I love the simplicity.
I think the creativeness is terrific--I too would like to see a variety of colors in the concrete--black, blue, brick colored bases would give even more choice to room flow. Great work though---would love to have one in my Living Room.
Beautiful!!! Congratulations.
If the base was hollow (maybe it is), it might not weight a lot. I wonder how much it really weighs?
Very elegant! The wood shade might be a bit dense though. Not to tamper with a really nice design, but if the shade was fabric (same shape) it might be nice too?
