We've been obsessed with the weekly pets on furniture feature at Desire To Inspire for a long time, and we just have to show you some of the snuggly minis on interesting furniture posted this week.
Often, folks try to keep furry friends off of beloved furniture pieces, but sometimes they just end up there anyway. Could you ever say no to that sadface tag team, or to the little one on her very own display stand? Awww.

I don't bother trying to keep the kitties off the furniture. They lounge anywhere they please. The only place they're not allowed is on the kitchen counter, not that that stops them from trying.
Sometimes when I'm working in the kitchen I'll turn around and see the two of them perched on the bar stools at the counter, watching me. They look like two little furry customers waiting for a meal at a diner. So cute!
I never miss a Monday of DTI Pet's on Furniture. Awwwww...
love this feature. i sit with my niece and we go through the old posts for laughs.
As much as I try to keep the kitty off the sofas and sometimes my bed, I just give up. She seems so hurt when I shoo her. But I draw the line at the kitchen counter and dining room table.
My cat, Ptolemy, is one of the Pets on Furniture stars of weeks past. It was one of his proudest moments, I'm certain.
I think that pets have absolutely no place on furniture, and should they jump up - well that's what a rolled up newspaper is for. My wife takes the opposite position, that I should sleep on the couch.
I'm with your wife. If my boyfriend tried the rolled newspaper approach, he'd be on the couch too :-p My kitties run the house, and that's the way I like it.
My whippets are not allowed to get up on the kitchen counter and the dining table. They wanted to do that mostly because they hoped to steal food. They rarely try it any more since we aim always to put away the foods they like.
The only other furnishings they want to get up on are the most comfortable seating and beds. My husband and I had planned before their arrival to keep them off beds due to his concerns about hygiene. He yielded to them in days.
We keep the dogs off tables, dining chairs, and beds, but we do let them up on the sofas. It does mean that we have to clean them a little more often, but it's easier for us to pet and cuddle with them up there next to us.
As members of the family, it's nice to see pets at home on the furniture.
Dogs, especially large dogs who play outside and have dirty feet, do not belong on the furniture in our house. They are usually banished to the non-carpeted areas of the house for the same reasons. Cats are allowed on everything but tables and countertops... though my sneaky cat likes to fall asleep square in the middle of a placemat when he thinks no one is home. He seems to think it's a blanket sized just for him.
My cat (Jenks a "kitty"? NO) has the run of the house. He tends to dislike upholstered pieces and instead lies on the floor or my coffee table. I'm also of the NO CATS on counters or kitchen tables school of thought. At least until I had to start giving him insulin shots. The end counter in my kitchen is the right height and has the right light. He can stay there when the shot is done, but he can go no further. He's willful, but he's good at hearing NO!
I am of the belief that it depends on the dog. I have a small cocker spaniel that is allowed on the bed and on the sofa and chairs, any place I can lay or sit, he is welcome next to me. No dogs allowed at the tables or counters of course, due to I prefer my dog hair on the floor not in my food. I use to have a larger dog that was just to big to allow on the bed, she had a floor on the bed and stayed there, or on the tile in the bathroom (she loved it). I am allergic to cats, but did pet sit my mom's cat for a month not to long ago and was very disgusted to learn he was allowed anywhere, he quickly learned I was not going to allow paws on my table and counter tops. (of course I did not spank, I am of the mind a firm NO! works just fine.)
Bed on the floor* LOL
