Philips Ambient Experience Concept Suite Is One Moody Room

Philips has invested a lot of time, money and technology in the realm of integrating ambient and mood lighting into several of their products. Some of their concepts make a lot of sense, while others not as much (but are cool nonetheless from a tech exploratory perspective). And now Philips has teamed up with posh Fairmont Singapore hotel to give us a glimpse at what a fully integrated tech-interior could look like in the near future with mostly already available technologies...

The Fairmont room is filled with a range of Philip's Ambilight products, from the one-touch smart remote that can set four mood light settings (Rise, Perk, Lush, and Rest), to a bathroom with a motion-activated safety lighting and a large faux-star filled ceiling installation, Ambilight flat panels for your viewing pleasures, Ambisound theater systems and a light-based morning alarm system that gently coaxes you out of bed.

Something tells us we won't be seeing any of these features at the Motel 6 or Best Westerns we tend to stay in, but we'd speculate that travel expensed business travelers will be seeing tech decked appointed rooms like this sooner than later. For now, the Fairmont Philips Ambient Experience Concept Suite is a work in progress and not open to the public with no set availability date.
