Location: Upper Market/Castro — San Francisco, California
I was blessed to find a studio that — owing to a very gracious layout — feels much bigger than it really is. Southern light, vertical lines, and dark wood accents together create an airy and tranquil space, with an almost Japanese character.
I chose furniture that would accentuate the apartment's calming proportions, making sure there would be a logical place for all my belongings while still maintaining space to breathe and move around. (Having three huge closets certainly helped.) My personal decorating style often verges on spare, though my minimalism is tempered by warm earth tones, a variety of textures, and strategically placed collages of art and found objects. The end result is a home that truly soothes my soul.
