While HUE has been out for a few years, it's been growing with new products lately and ready to be played with. That said, if you thought that LED bulbs ran a little expensive, you may want to back away from this, as the price on these high performance bulbs will set you back further, but then you won't be stepping into the future.

HUE is an LED bulb system to replace your existing bulbs (over time, one would assume) and which allows you to program your lighting from an iPhone or Android app. What does this mean? It means that you can turn on and off your lights, dim them and allow them to match a spectrum of color for security, ambiance and health reasons. The potential to customize your lighting and control it is virtually endless here, and one can imagine that it would be incredibly cool to dim all your lights to reading mode while sitting in bed, and then turn them all off without having to get out of bed. OR suppose you program all your lights to come up slowly in the morning to aid with getting those sleepy heads out of bed quickly, but more gently?

You can read all about it on HUE's website or check out this good review on Engadget. Got your own review? Please do tell me below.
