Photo Headboards From The Anemi Hotel

With all the DIY solutions to headboards floating around, there's really no excuse not to have one. This versatile idea made from enlarged photo canvases and found at the Anemi Hotel in Folegandros Greece is one of the easiest headboards to personalize. Guaranteed to make any ho-hum box-spring/mattress combo look like a piece of art.

The most durable and cost effective way to put this idea into practice is probably to wrap a printed canvas around a piece of MDF or plywood (rather than regular canvas stretchers) and mount the board to the wall or directly to the bed frame. To find out how to attach directly to the wall, check out Maxwell's mounting instructions in his How To: Build Your Own Headboard Post. Or to find out how to attach directly to your bed, check out one of our favorite DIYs from Apartment Therapy reader, Clarissa, How To: DIY Tufted Headboard, and follow step 10 in her instructions.

Thankfully, these days there are about a million sources for enlarging and printing your favorite photos. I've listed my favorites in my Round Up: Ideas and Sources For Displaying Family Photos post.
