Your plate arrives with a waffle, a grilled cheese, raw oysters—but it's not what you ordered. At the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto, that's the point, where resident artist Jacqueline Poirier, aka "The Crazy Plate Lady," has been hand painting dishware for the past three years.

While food is her favorite thing to paint, Poirier also does portraits (David Bowie, Grumpy Cat) as well as everyday objects (playing cards, shoes).

Poirier also does custom orders.
