Photoshop and Vision

No, that's not an Andy Warhol pictured above. It's iteration after iteration of shutter/door paint schemes for the front of the house:

Sometimes, it's tough to visualize how certain changes will impact your home. Right now, for instance, we're getting serious about painting the shutters and front door to change up the boring dark green on our home's exterior. We're pretty sure we want to go white-on-white with the shutters and either bold or neutral with the front door. Where did we turn for help? Photoshop!

With just a few cuts, pastes, and adjustments of color and contrast, our ideas were more easily visualized and communicated between myself and my husband. We were both able to look concretely at an image and agree that our favorite is the bright green door and white shutters. The whole process is both fun and relatively instantly gratifying.

Have you ever used Photoshop or some other digital visualization tool to make decisions about your own home? Please tell us how in the comments below. And while you're there, we'd love to hear what you think about the door and shutters - any suggestions are more than welcome!
