Pictorial Webster's Cards: Icons & Curiosities from A to Z

Webster's just published a gorgeous pictorial dictionary chock full of original (and beautiful) engravings from 19th century Webster's volumes, seen here on Apartment Therapy. In conjunction with this book are these amazing pictorial wall cards, which we think would be perfect for a little one's room...

These cards draw directly from the restored engravings from the Webster's dictionaries of the 19th century. Johnny Carrera, a printer, bookbinder, and artist who founded Quercus Press letterpress and bindery, has meticulously cleaned and restored the engravings for this project. These specimens make up "items deemed important to the Victorian mind," and bring a fantastic sense of vintage aesthetic and nostalgic ornamentation to alphabetical wall cards.

We think these would be gorgeous framed or arranged on the wall in an inspiring and educational display. While the book is available from Chronicle books now, the wall cards have not yet been released. You can, however, pre-order them here, as well as this beautiful stamp set based on the images from the book.
