I've always felt there's just nothing quite like the ambience of good wine, good friends, and dining under candle light...up until now. At a recent dinner party, I was admiring the host's rustic modern candle chandelier that hung above the table. It wasn't until after the meal that I suddenly realized that the whole thing was electric! Turns out, the host recently installed the Pillar Candle Rectangular Bronze Chandelier from Restoration Hardware (now on sale $659). The totally natural-looking faux candles (which are randomly shaped, which added to the realism) are wired from within and create a welcoming ambient glow. The framework is cast iron and painted in a nice bronze finish. The host explained that they used to have the kind of chandelier that used real candles, but inevitably, it would get messy (once even dripping down onto the food!) This new electric chandelier gives all the ambience of traditional candles, but without the hassle and cleanup. I guess there really are some things that are as good as the real thing. Does anyone have one of these? Thoughts?
