Danny Seo posted a tip on his blog earlier this month that fits right in with our Bedroom theme:
His suggestion is that rather than changing your bedding every few days, you could swap out just the pillowcases at that time. He writes, The pillowcases are the ones in the most need of a good washing, if you really think about it.
It seems practical, as well as time-, energy-, and water-saving, but we wonder what you think. . .

"The pillowcases are the ones in the most need of a good washing, if you really think about it."
Uh, the sheets are where my butt rubs up against.
I'm thinking that Danny must not sleep in the nude. Otherwise, I think it's a good idea, though I wouldn't go too long--perhaps change your pillows every few days and every other time, change your sheets as well.
Personally, I know the feeling of just clean pillow cases would not be satisfying. To each his own OCD.
um, ew.
Yeah, I wash them all the time, at the same time.
When my mother changed the beds (five children, two adults), she'd wash only the bottom sheets and pillow slips. She'd move the old top sheet to the bottom and put on fresh top sheet.
This was in the old days when decent people (ducking) didn't sleep in the nude and before fitted bottom sheets (which I hate) and permanent press...
So, how often does the average person change sheets? Don't know about the rest of you, but I generally change mine once a week. What is wrong with that? Seems reasonable to me -- especially if you wear pjs and take 1 to 2 showers a day as I do. Now you folks sleeping in the buff are a whole other matter....
You all must be pretty clean not to get your sheets dirty that often ... ;D Let's face it, my sheets get dirty during sex pretty often. During the winter the top sheet stays on so it pretty much all has to be washed. I probably could wash every other day if I wanted to.
I change my sheets at least once a week. Sometime more depending on how much sex I have that week. I generally roll in the hay around 5 times a week so I couldn't imagine not changing all of the sheets at least once a week. This is typically on a Thursday when I give the entire apartment a cleaning. I'm a bit OCD so I am on a schedule.
