After finding inspiration in the giant pinecones at Yosemite National Park, British designer Clive Roddy dreamed up this futuristic-looking light fixture made of spoons!
The lamp was created with 115 stainless steel dessert spoons atop a solid oak pedestal.

Despite having a lamp shade made of steel, the natural curves of the spoons allow light to filter through the spaces and scatter patterns and shadows on their surroundings. I love the intriguing effect they give!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Hmmm. It's cool as sculpture, I like the shape, but as a functional light source, maybe not so much. Might be a great garden light (on a less "indoor" base) since the shadows it casts would be less obtrusive outside with foliage and all that...
Agreed. I would like it as an outdoor light, with a reactive metal base and with NON-stainless (or silver) spoons, so the whole thing would acquire a tarnished/weathered patina.
I completely disagree!
I think this lamp is stunning, illuminated or not, and I would happily have this in my restaurant or apartment.
I love the contrast of the oak against the reflective aesthetic of the spoons and the way that at first glance it appears simple - however, upon closer inspection, it is clear that the construction is beautifully intricate.
Nice work!
